We were unprepared for the unprecedented numbers of skiers tonight. My apologies for the congestion at the finish and the long wait. Thank you all for bearing it gracefully. Also apologies for the finishers who didn't get a time because the clock battery ran down. The clock posts an "L" and ":00" when it runs down.

We will certainly have a longer finish chute and an extension cord to the clock next week. Hopefully we can get a few more helpers to speed the finish recording as well. The saving grace was the calm, reasonably mild night. We simply had no idea that 88 racers would show for the season opener. Typically our numbers are in the 40's for the first race and that's what we had planned for. This is the largest turnout for any of the Tuesday night races ever.

I've given a number of you who had not registered a race number (check here), but it's in your interest to sign up online http://www.skateswift.com/Weston.htm because you can't be tracked for age class competition unless we have your age and gender. Also, an email address will make sure you get an email of results or other race announcements.

Tonight's results (which of course are cumulative so far, as well) follow. I'll make corrections and add names where not listed below if you send them along.

One final note. I arbitrarily changed the points structure. Our original drops to one point for 45th place and above. I didn't think it was fair to have no distinction between 45th place and 88th place so I've adjusted the points value upwards. If there are any squabbles about it, we can always revert retroactively. For the up front crowd, the delta between places is the same, so it shouldn't alter that competition. (Old/new here).
